Bra helg. Jobbet på lørdag men folk fra universitetet. Var på konsert med ei vennine på kvelden og ute en tur med henne og noen av hennes venner etterpå, bra kveld :D Men ble syyykt solbrent i løpet av dagen takket være disse microclimaene, supert...Im gonna peeeel like a reptile.

Søndag: Sov, spiste, skypet. That was all.

Minutes it took to completely soak me and everything in my backpack on my way home from work today: 5.

Just hope the phone and mp3 player starts working again once it dries, especially because it is not my phone ... :/

Think Im going to bed so this day can dissapear. xoxoxo

Rainy update

Hello.

Im at work. Its pouring down outside and Im suppose to leave in 20min buuuut might have to hang out here until the worst stops. Damn you rainy season.

Update since last time.

SO there you have it. Im am happy today tho. I found out that my boss is going to let me visit another project for a week so will hopefully save some tortugas (sea turtles) on a remote beach while I´m here. It doesnt hurt either that it means 2 weeks of not packing any newspapers either :D Why 2 weeks? Because the week before this is the international week in san jose when we will prepare for the stands at the international day. I will be swedish that week by the way. Since ACI doesnt have a program in Norway I could choose if I wanted to do a stand all by my lonesome or help someone else. So I could chose between dressing up as a lonely brown cheese or as Pippi Langstrompe. Difficult desicion ehm not really ;) So bring it on May!! eventhough that will mean more rain..

Woman 1 - Cucaracha 0

It has been an interesting day. Or not really anything exciting but I've not had the best of luck!

On my way home from work the chain all of a sudden fell off, and almost got stuck between my feet and the peddals or something, not really sure what happened, but I almost fell of my bike. And the chain fell off. And when I tried to put it back on it was twisted in a weird way so after 15 min of intense attempts of getting it untwisted I had to admit my defeat and walk back home with diiiirty hands and the chain on the handle. Nobody offered to help me either:(

Anyways, went to the gym and had probably the best aerobics class I've ever been to. It was exhausting + really difficult = Fun! Loved it so much and was sooo tired after that I didnt feel the need to go to spinning class after so I went home. And what awaits me in my room??? A big, fat, ugly, disgusting cocaracha. I HATE them with a passion. I get far enough of them at work, in fact I think I saw about 12 at work today and it doesnt really bother me anymore, but when it's in my room, even on my pillow in my bed (!) then that is just not ok. Quite angry at the little bugger I went for the bug-killing-spray, marched back into my room ready to attack. I found it and I sprayed and sprayed and sprayed. It still didnt die so I sprayed some more. After taking a few laps around my bed, the bastard finally gave in. The great thing now is that my room smells like it was painted with this bug-killing-spray...Still it is far better than going to sleep fearing that a cocaracha might crawl up in your face while you sleep. Eewwwww!

Im doing fiiiiine

Har hatt en bra dag :) Vet ikke helt hvorfor men dagen i dag har virkelig vært bedre enn alle dagene denne uken til sammen! Var mye å gjøre på jobben, ikke så mye folk men fikk allikevel snakket mye spansk, og det skjer ikke så ofte!

Var også på ett møte med de amerikanske gringos som jeg har fortalt om nå i kveld. De har veldig mange spennende prosjekter på gang, pluss at de vil støtte COFERENE så det er supert!

Har forresten kontaktet amsassaden i Managua for å få hjelp til standen og de skulle tenke på det..så vi får se. Tror det blir rebusløp på ski som jeg skal lage på en måte. Pluss stand med info etc. tror det kan bli bra:)

Håper dere ikke puster inn for mye aske der oppe i nord...Kan sende dere noen hårnett eller masker hvis det er behov for det;)

By the way, det er nå 8 timers forskjell på norge og costa rica pga dere stillte jo klokka (forhåpentligvis) og det gjorde ikke vi! Bare så dere vet det..og hvis dere vil sende brev og sånnt så går ikke det for jeg har verken postkasse eller adresse..hoho, festlig land:)

Hi Y'all

Yesterday was a shitty day! I woke up and felt like my head weighted like 50 kilos and I had a sore throat so decided to cross out getting out of bed from the program. So I stayed in bed, my host mum made me hot lemonade with honey, very nice of her. Then I watched a film and then slept a bit more and after that I was just extremely bored.

Been thinking a lot about what to do when I get back home and all that, pluss what to do for the international day (thanks for no help what so ever by the way!) and I cant seem to find a solution to anything.

And work is being shit. Im just a bit fed up of everything..there is so much crap stuff there now its difficult to get anything done. It smells bad. The people speak so quickly about weird stuff, and it seems that my spanish has gotten worse after my holliday. Great.

Buuuut, I think im just stuck in that half way shitty period and that it will all be better in a few days.

Ok, forgot this part.

So the meeting saturday was about this event we have coming up..the international day. All volunteers have to prepare a stand, activities, entertainment and\or food from their country..and it's pretty serious stuff! saw some pics from last years which included free german beer, a 2meter high 2 meter long big ben, the eifel tower, a castle with the stand in side it, a smurf village, a viking ship etc etc. and it looked soo professional! I am the only one from norway so I need some help.

ANy ideas about what I can do would be soooo appreciated! DOnt get a lot of money to do this and only have a week in san jose to prepare for it...the day is 15th of may. Soooo wish I was from Sweden so I could dress up as Pippi!

Im thinking doing something with cross country skiing but not sure how\what...help.

I heart travelling

Hola amigos y amigas!

I was going to upload a lot of pics here, but I couldnt for some rason so it's all on facebook instead!

It's back to reality for my part now..its tough to be back at work and everything after almost two weeks on the road spending time with my real (and the best) parents, meeting new people and seeing sooo many beautiful things and places. Its even more difficult with the spanish now..and there is soooo much rubbish at work it really ssuuuucks! anyways this is how the trip went down:

First stop San Ramon. Parents came with their rented car, visited my project and had gallo pinto cooked by my amazing boss, stayed the night at my home here and we had a nice evening together all of us with tapas style food and loads of red wine.

Next stop was Puntarenas. Full of people, heat and saaaand. Not very great beaches compared to others i've seen..

Then we were off to La Fortuna and the very shy volcano arenal. It was nice tho, and the lake especially.

Then off to Monteverde. Walked through the cloudy forests on hanging bridges. Went horsebackriding. Ate dinner in a tree house.

Then we drove aaaaall the way back to san jose. Stayed in the hostel, my home in san jose, and the next day went to granada nicaragua by buss. 8 long hours. WOrth it tho. Loved granada. So much more exotic than costa rica..costa rica is a bit too americanized sometimes...

The last two days we went to laguna the nicoya. Stayed in a eco resort, spendt most of our time in the water or in the hammocks. Or kayaking. It was a nice way to end the hollidays.

We went back saturday and I went straight from the buss station to an ACI meeting with the other volunteers. Those events usually turn into parties and this night was no exception. Me and Tere (thats your name now Therese) went back to the hostel tho and was suppose to meet up with the others later but we found some cool people at the hostel, the owners among others and ended up going out with them. As per ususal the night ended on the sofa outside the hostel in the early hours of the morning after a bit too much drinking, talking and laughing.


I was still up when my parents left at 5am sunday so got to say bye to them as well. Lovely. Had to pay for it sunday tho. hung over and tired to the point where it was extremely painful and I just wanted to lay down and die a little bit. I got over it tho :)

For those of you who dont know, Im out travelling with my parentals for a bit more than a week so its a bit difficult to update the blogg!

SO far we have been hanging out with my host family in san ramon, sweated heavily on the beach in Puntarenas, seen a volcano and a beautiful lake in La Fortuna, walked through the rain forest on hanging bridges and also seen the sunset on horseback in Monteverde, and now we are off to san jose for a day and then to Granada |Nicaragua tomorrow!

Will for sure upload pics and stories when I get back.
