Hollidaaaay :D

Waaay too long since I blogged last time, thanks, I know! But holliday is holliday. Now holliday is over so now I blog again!

Started the Ho to the liday in San Jose with my BFF and Izaac out and about in club oh. Dangerous place. You pay like 8.000 colones - ca 100 kr and you can drink as much as you want until the bar closes. No need to say it got messy and I lost my camera. No drama-i-got-robbed-story, I just lost it no idea where.

Woke up the next day VERY hung over at like 9am and at 10am we were on the buss on our way to Puerto Viejo on one of the most uncomfortable bussrides of my life. The buss was packed, the normal road was closed which meant 5h instead of 4h on a veeery turny road. Im surprised I didnt puke. Spendt saturday and sunday there, said goodbye to Sabine and chilled out with some cool people. Monday we went to heaven aka Bocas del Torro in Panama. It was a tough journey there as well. First a small local buss to the boarder, then a walk over a very unsecure bridge.

Then we took a taxi for about 1h and then a taxi boat. And then we did this for about a week:

Floating

More floating
Tanning

Chilling
Our home for the week, Casa Verde <3

One day we actually felt like we should leave the hostel area, the tubes and the music and go to one of the amazing beaches around us. So me and therese went with 3 guys we met at the hostel and went snorkelig on the way to the beach:

This corrall picture is actually taken right under the dock of our hostel...its sooo pretty:))

Probably the most amazing thing with this trip was the people. The surroundings helped a lot buut when you have you're own, live reggae band on your own dock it's pretty hard to do anything but be happy. We met sooo many nice people..our band from chile of course and people from argentina, australia, england, scotland, holland, usa, germany, israel etc etc. Love it!

Our room was like a music studio, the very first time we walked in there they were recording the Casa Verde song! You can here it here if you have facebook.

SO yes. Goood holliday.

Oh and the pictures are not mine, seeing how I lost my camera..so thanks to those who took these! You know who you are:)

Take care everyone and see you SOON :D

Exciiited!

Yes, I'm so excited. That I just can't hide it lalalaaa:)

This weekend is going to be soo good and the week after even better. Heading to san jose tomorrow to celebrate...well..life in general at a club with good friends and a lot of lady gaga music. Should be interesting;) And then it's off to Puerto Viejo Saturday! Sweeet beginning to my holliday week me thinks!

Then monday or sunday we will leave costa rica for a few days and soak up as much sun as possible in Panama. I will of course upload a lot of photos when I get back, but I feel like being very nice today so here is some tasters of what we will be finding in Bocas del Toro. Feel free to be jealous;)

It's an island community in a way so most of the transportation will be by taxi boats. Aaaand Therese was there a few months ago and know people with their own private island...crazyness. Snorkling, coctails, beach, turquis water and suuuun here I cooome :D

Oh and work is imrpoving as well...Think we might be able to clean that place up a bit and make the whole work process a bit more efficient, thanks to my gringo (american) pals! One of them came over for a meeting last week and took some pictures so here is what I'm working with people!
The pics are taken inside the building where I usually pack and sort my newspapers..

Maybe now it's a bit easier to understand why I feel my job is a bit difficult at times and why I'm soooo looking forward to my holliday..?!

I also did a presentation not so long ago in a school..so there is a lot of variety to my job which is good

but on a day to day basis my job is a bit too full of shit. Literally.
Hope you're all enjoying the summer and hopefully there's a bit of sun where you are as well:D

I live for the weekends!!!

Helloooo

A little update. Feeling sooo much better than last week. Not sure why but I had a really nice weekend and now I can count on one hand how many weeks until I'm done with this job! :D Plans for the rest of the stay will come in the next post, possibly tomorrow;)

Any who. Weekend. Friday I went to bed early, or correction, I tried to go to bed early but a recent grey's anatomy addiction made that plan difficult to carry out..I got up at 5 am saturday morning. Yes I know, it is waaaay to early for a saturday but my boss decided we should leave at 5.30am and then so we did. I was picked up in a small mini buss and it was packed. We are normally 5-6 workers at my job but in this bus there were like 12 other people and I was like, who the hell are you guys? I thought this was a trip for people working there..apparently there was room for 14 in the mini buss and they invited a bunch of people to fill up the buss and they did a fine job filling it up! No space was wasted that's for sure..

We drove for about 2-3 hours to a church in Cartago first so they could attend the mass, and from there it was up the hills and to volcan Irazú. This is the 3rd volcano I see in this country and I must say it was the least impressive out of the three..no activity, no noises, just a crater..buuut it was very pretty. After that we did a big loop around an area that I went to with my host family. Very nice area and we had lunch by a bride, or more like a dam and the views there were absolutely stunning! We also went to see some ruins of a church that was ruined by an earthquake in the early 1900s.
After our little trip they dropped me off in san jose and I went to the hostel and met up with the boys. It was Yann's birthday a week ago so we celebrated him! Went to a sickly expensive club with a lot of stuck up posh people but we danced and had a good time until I almost fell into a coma around 2..I was sooo tired. So went back to the hostel and was going to sleep but noooo..there was some of the leaders of ACI there and so we sat up until 4 talking shit.
Sunday I watched the germany-australia match and then went home to san ramon only to find that my host family now has a cat. And I am allergic. But she is the cutest cat ever and only like 1 month old and so as long as I keep her out of my room I think it will be ok. Let's see..

Hope it is raining less at home than it is here.. take care:) xxx

Someone, give me strength! Please?

I kind of made a deal with myself..or more of a restriction. The last two weeks I have bought quite a lot of stuff..like 4 dresses and 1 pair of shoes. Which, now that I see it written down, seems a bit excessive. So I told myself I am not going to buy anymore until I'm back in Europe, except if I find a nice bikini because I actually need one. It's only like a month and a half so shouldn't be that difficult right? Riiiiight...

Walking back from the gym today I passed a shop window and I saw THE nicest pair of sandals and a really really nice dress. Maybe Sigrid was right, maybe it should be called the land of the beautiful dresses. I really want to buy it. I couldn't today because the shop was closed but I'm afraid my willpower isn't strong enough to avoid buying it. So please, some extra willpower would be nice if anyone has anything to spare.

I am feeling better now. It really helps to work out for me and really, I have nothing to complain about! Thinking about what I have coming up makes me feel really lucky and so my whining and complaining stops right here and now. Promise.

Pura Vida Love xxx

Why does it always rain on me??

It´s official. The weather gods hate me. Im supposed to be walking home from work right about now..but then the sky opened up and if I tried to go outside I think I would dissapear. It´s raining soooo heavily. And the thunder. help. This always happens. The exact moment I need to go somewhere the sky opens. I even had to park the bicycle and go walking as cycling with umbrellas have proved to be
a) a very comic sight and
b) dangerous

and frankly I cant afford more of my electronic equipment to drown..

Im having a not so happy day today. Been quite sad actually and even cried at work..
Not sure what´s going on, buuuut planning on going to the gym (if I ever get home) to get some shit out of my system and keep focus on all the good stuff! :)

Have a nice weekend planned, my work colleagues and me are going on a trip to a volcano that I have yet to see and some other thingys and then Im being dropped off in San jose for a birthday party:) Hosetl 1110 here I come again! The only down side to this is that I have to leave my house at 5AM sat morning..might fall a sleep in my drink at the party! Buut if I go to bed friday at like 9 I might survive.

So yes. The rain has now gone from extreme to extreme light so might take the chance. Have a good night/morning/aftenoon/whatever

Guapiles, Gunshots and Earthquakes!

Heyy

So Sunday I was supposed to go to San ramon again but due to unforeseen circumstances I went to Guapiles with Therese! Stayed with her and worked at her project monday and tuesday and went home tuesday afternoon. it was really nice but my god I am so glad I dont live in guapiles..It's sooo warm compared to san ramon and the people are quite darker so we always feel like aliens when we walk around there. Not to mention the place is butt ugly. It is sooo strange how such a tiny country can have both the most amazing paradise on earth and also the ugliest place I have ever seen. Not all of it is ugly tho..the house of t's family is sooo ice and their garden is too.
It was nice to see her kids at the prphanage again as well, they are sooo cute:) And her family has 5 adorable puppies:) Here is 3 of them..

Sunday night we were both really tired from our nightly adventure saturday and wanted to go to bed early buuuut then we started watching the last episode of grey's anatomy which turned out to be a 2h long hospital massacre..a lot of blood and screaming involved so we were pretty scared when we went to bed. About 10min after closing my eyes we both heard a gun shot outside the window. And 10min after that again we felt an earthquake..Let's just say it took a while before we fell a sleep.

Monday and tuesday was pretty shitty much because of lack of sleep..and then having 12 kids around you in 40 degrees heat..Lovely.

But of course I enjoyed my company <3

All inclusive

Had such a nice weekend. It was for sure worth waiting for!

Friday I met my BFF in San Jose, at our hostel of course. We had a a little fruit and 90s hits fiesta! Loads of mango, papaya, strawberries, and grapes and sing along to our childhood heroes like backstreet boys, tlc, robyn, ace of base, spicegirls and aqua hahaha soooo funny!

Saturday we started with a good breakfast
then just chilled out at the hostel
then went for a niiiice lunch and had a glass of white wine
then shopped a little bit
then had a brownie and coffee
then met Isaac and went to the cinema to see sex and the city
then I bought shoes
then we went out to have a cosmopolitan
then we went back to the hostel, changed, had a beer and went out to rapsodia. It was a very funny night.

SUnday was a rainy and lazy day, but guess how happy we were when we turned the tv on at the hostel and it was a 2h long sex and the city marathon!! We were very happy. So hungover day with sofa + popcorn+sex and the city..PERFECTION!

Now its almost time to go back to reality again....

I will upload pictures when I get back to San Ramon tonight! xxxx

What do you mean I can´t buy envelopes at the post office??

Hello hello!

I am having a very happy day today. The sun is shining, it´s almost friday and I only have about 4 working weeks left:D I do have about 6 weeks left in Costa Rica, but I will go to Panama one week for vacation and then we have an evaluation camp in july. So yes, not so much time left in other words!

It´s not that I´m not gonna miss costa rica buuut I´m just a bit fed up with my work, and I have some good plans to look forward to and soo many beautiful people I look forward to see:)

Eventhough I have been here for more than 4 months now some things still surprise me. Like yesterday. I was going to the post office to send a letter which I had never done here before..SO I took my paper and after one of the ladies at work made me a little map I was off. Left work about 1h early to allow myself time incase I got lost. Found it surprisingly quickly, went in, waited a bit and then told the lady that I would like to buy an envelope and send the letter to norway. She just looked at me very strangely and I first thought it was because she was confused about my attempt of using body language to express the word envelope (did not know the word for envelope in spanish, but now I do:) Then she sais: "But we don´t have any envelopes." I was shocked. They were not sold out they actually didnt have any envelopes. In fact when I started to look around they didnt sell anything. Not even a piece of paper or a pen. I though "This is strange!". It´s like a gas station that doesn´t sell gas. In England for example I could buy the usual post stuff but also umbrellas, choclate or teddybears! In Norway I can buy cd´s or movies at the post office if I want. This maybe a bit extreme, but usually postoffices always have something for sale!

Anyways I asked where I could get hold of an envelope and the direction was something like 50 meters north, 25 south, 100 west and I was like yea yea, can you please just point in which direction it is and I´ll figure it out.

When I eventually got back I was pleased to discover that at least the post office had stamps.

The earth is moving!!

Aloha!

First of all, had a wonderful weekend with my danish friend Sabine:) She came on friday afternoon and in the night we had a super chilled time. Talked, had pretty healthy snacks, and watched a rather unhealthy movie (28 days). Saturday was shopping day and my god did we shop! Found a store that lokked super trashy and cheap and it was cheap but we found some really cute stuff. WHoever said shopping can´t make you happy was very wrong!

My boss had inveted us to a small sort of cooking class so that saturday afternoon we went to her house and cooked pretty much all evening. It was really nice and my boss is the sweetest person ever, she even gave us jewlery. We made picadillos de papa y carne, tortillas and a cake with loads of sugar butter and peanut butter. So a very halthy cake :/
Later we watched the Am. Idol final and chilled. Spent the night there and in the morning it was time for more food. Fruit, Empanadas and cake. Think both me and Sabine felt like we rolled out of that house, but it was a good experience!

This week is the boring kind. Not so much going on except some extreme weather. Yesterday was the hottest day ever, but of course when I went home after work it started pouring. I was of course soaked by the time I got home, but no phones or mp3 players died:D

I went to bed around 10 and all of a sudden my bed starts moving...I thought I was going crazy, but turned out it was an earthquake! 6.2 on the R-something scale (not sure how u spall that Richers or something??) but the epicentro of the action was not here thanfully and no damage was done. 6.2 is the same as it was in Haiti, but because the buildings here are consructed differently they are more capable of handling it than in poorer countries like feks Haiti..Still it was a bit scary!

Can´t wait for the weekend!! Hope you are well lovelies xxx <3
